True North Spiral Bound Pattern

True North is a robust block of the month quilt pattern ideal for the intermediate quilter who is looking to perfect skills or learn new skills. This pattern uses traditionally pieced blocks, appliqued blocks, curved piecing, and foundation paper piecing. The quilt finishes at 88" x 88". The pattern assumes yardage to be at least 42" wide.
 
Fabric Requirements:
  • Background Fabric: 6 yards
  • One of the following:
    • Eleven 1/2 yard cuts of fabric
    • 20 Fat Quarters
    • 5 1/2 yards total of a variety of fabrics
  • Binding: 3/4 yard
  • Backing: 3 yards 108" wide
 
Additional Materials Needed:
  • Sewing Machine
  • 1/4" sewing foot
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Water soluble marking pen OR Heat n' Bond
  • Machine Quilting Thread
  • Printed Templates
  • Optional: Apploque Glue
  • Foundation Paper Piecing Paper

  • Spiral Bound Book with Template Inserts

    This pattern comes as an 8.5" x 11" spiral bound book printed with full color. In addition to access to the pdf templates that can be printed on US letter, there will be 11" x 17" printed templates inserted into the book.
